INTRODUCTION:

Coronavirus is a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans.  In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause different respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases namely Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The most recently discovered coronavirus causes COVID-19

This infection can cause mild to severe disease and can also be fatal in some cases. Commonly observed symptoms of infected person include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, sore throat and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can also cause pneumonia or severe acute respiratory syndrome, particularly in those with other chronic underlying health conditions and even death.

SPREAD OF COVID 19

COVID 19 is a communicable disease and spreads from one person to another through small droplets from nose or mouth of infected person, when infected person speaks, sneezes, or coughs. These droplets are heavy so they quickly sink to a surface nearby such as floor, doorknobs, table, bottle, handrails and so on.

Almost all the Countries across the world are racing to slow the spread of coronavirus by testing and treating patients continuously, carrying out contact tracing, limiting travel, quarantining citizens and cancelling all large gatherings such as sporting events, concerts, ceremonies and so on.

COVID 19 pandemic is moving like a wave—one that may yet crash on those who are least able to cope.

However, COVID-19 is much more than a health crisis every country it touches, it has the potential to create devastating social, economic and political crises that will leave deep scars on everyone.

Dozens of the world’s greatest cities are deserted as people are staying indoors, either by choice or by government order. Across the world, schools, educational institutions, shops, theatres, gyms, fitness centres, restaurants and bars are closed.

Every day, so many people are losing jobs and income, with no way of knowing when normality will return. Small island nations, who are heavily dependent on tourism, have empty hotels and deserted beaches. The International Labour Organization estimates that 195 million jobs could be lost due to COVID 19 pandemic.
