How to setup Herbal Hand Sanitizer Factory

Herbal hand sanitizers are alcohol-free sanitizers generally based on disinfectants, such as benzalkonium chloride or on antimicrobial agents, such as triclosan. The activity of disinfectants and antimicrobial agents is both immediate and protracted. Herbal hand sanitizers also contain emollients glycerin that soothes the skin, thickening agents, and fragrance.

Ingredients of herbal hand sanitizer 

  • Aloe Vera gel
  • Lavender hydrosol
  • Isopropyl alcohol or Ethyl Alcohol (prasanna)
  • Lemon oil
  • Tea tree oil
  • Eucalyptus oil

License Requirement

Herbal hand sanitizer manufacturing license fee is ₹ 1,000 which renew after 5 years. Herbal hand sanitizers can be manufactured on the basis of Form 25 D of Drugs and Cosmetic Rules.

License granted by state Ayurvedic Drugs Controller whose is in state capital.

Inspection done by District Ayuredic officer.

Formulation of Herbal Hand Sanitizer Gel

Carbapol 940 and Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) added to deionized water with constant stirring. After uniform mixing, glycerin was added with slow stirring to avoid formation of possible air bubbles in the product. All the extracts were added to this mixture followed by the addition of PG. All the aqueous extract of neem, Ocimum sanctum and Citrus lemon were added along 0.3% of perfume and mixed by slow stirring to get uniform product. Prepared products were stored in HDPE containers.

Machinery:
