Safety shoes are used to protect the foot and toes from germs or microorganisms.  They are also called as medical shoes or disposable medical shoes These are made up of non-woven polypropylene material therefore, these can be disposed off easily. Safety shoes is a part of personal protective equipment kit (PPE). When there is a need of close interaction personal protective equipment (PPE) is needed to be worn to protect yourself from contamination. Also most of the shoes are made of rubber, plastic and leather, due to this they can become another carrier of the virus.

In order to protect yourself and your surroundings, it is best to take the following precautionary steps to ensure that you are safe from contracting the virus:

 

  • Always remove your shoes before entering house
  • Wash the shoes worn to public places with water and soap and then sanitize it.
  • Leather and other materials which couldn’t be washed with water and soap must be wiped properly with a disinfectant or sanitizer.
  • Place a clean pair of slippers or shoes outside at the doorstep and change into them before entering house
  • Wear Safety shoes or protective disposable shoes while entering any infected area.
